ILT20 Points Table Explained in Simple Words
Last updated: 31 October 2026.
The ILT20 points table for Season 5 is six rows of zeros until 21 November 2026. Positions are not ranked before a ball. This page explains the points custom and the net run rate sum, then links the live points table.
What Is the ILT20 Points Table?
It is the league ranking after 30 games. Six teams. Each plays ten. The top four go into the playoffs. Fifth does not, even with a glossy net run rate. The table on this site starts everyone at zero played, zero points and a blank position, because a fake ranking would be a lie.
How the ILT20 Points Table Works in ILT20 Season 5
Previous ILT20 seasons awarded two points for a win. A no-result has typically shared the points. The Season 5 playing-conditions file was not in the sources checked on 30 October 2026, so this explainer will not dress that custom up as a freshly signed rule. When the live table adds points, the zeros get replaced and the date stamp moves.
ILT20 Points Table Example With Real Numbers
The worked row below is a teaching sum, not a Season 5 result. No match has been played. Side A scores 160 in 20 overs and concedes 150 in 20. Scoring rate 8.00, conceding rate 7.50, net run rate plus 0.500. A completed innings in which a side is bowled out counts as 20 overs even if it ends early. That is the standard broadcast formula.
| Side | Runs | Overs | Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Side A scored | 160 | 20 | 8.00 |
| Side A conceded | 150 | 20 | 7.50 |
| Net run rate | 160 minus 150, over 20 | — | +0.500 |
Rules, Tie-Breakers and Special Cases
When points are level, net run rate is the usual separator. Head-to-head can matter in some competitions. This page will not invent a Season 5 tie-break order the PDF did not confirm. If two sides finish level and the official note differs from the old custom, the points page gets the edit.
How the ILT20 Points Table Changes the Race for the Playoffs
Ten games is a short sample. A side can look safe in week one and be fifth by 14 December. Net run rate starts mattering from match one only as a tie-break, not as a way around the top four.
A second teaching sum, still not a result
Side B is bowled out for 110 in 16.2 overs. The rate uses 20 overs, not 16.2, so the conceding side is punished for the collapse and the batting side does not get a fake boost from ending early. 110 divided by 20 is 5.50. If the opponent scored 160 in 20 overs, rate 8.00, the winner's net run rate for that match is 8.00 minus 5.50, which is plus 2.500, and the loser's is the reverse. Add those match figures across the games that count and you have the season rate. The Season 5 table does not have a single one of those games yet.
What a short league does to a tie
Ten games is a small sample. Two sides can finish on the same points after one washout and one chase that went to the last over. Previous seasons used two points for a win. A shared no-result has been the usual custom. The Season 5 conditions PDF was not in the sources checked on 30 October 2026, so this page will not promote that custom to a freshly signed rule. Head-to-head is a tie-break in some leagues. It is not confirmed here. When the PDF names an order, the points page gets the edit and a new date.
Seeds 1 and 2 play Qualifier 1 in Abu Dhabi on 16 December. Seeds 3 and 4 play the eliminator in Dubai on 17 December. Fifth does not travel, however glossy the rate looks on 14 December. Net run rate is a separator between teams who already have the same points. It is not a back door into the playoffs.
